Tegan Macdonald

Tegan started her career in the physical sciences working in nuclear physics research where she gained a deep appreciation for the sciences. This experience shaped the type of behaviour consultant and animal trainer that she wanted to be and led her to the applied science of animal behaviour and welfare. In 2021, Tegan started a part-time master's degree in applied animal behaviour and welfare, where she continues to expand the scope of knowledge and services she can bring to her clients. From 2016-2022, Tegan worked in public service and non-profit management helping organizations and individuals improve their animal behaviour and welfare practices and achieve their goals. She has developed policy and procedure manuals, staff and volunteer training programs, behavioural interventions, and enrichment programs for all variety of companion animals, from dog aggression to guinea pig agility!

Our services prioritize the wellbeing of the animals and the people who care for them. This means we use the carrot, not the stick, and find ways to motivate our learners using reward-based, force-free strategies. Our consultants are Fear Free Certified and committed to a LIMA training philosophy.
