Mie Bay
Mie Bay has been a passionate animal lover since she was a child. She got her first dog, Gimli, a Norwegian Buhund, in 2004. In 2006, she decided to become a veterinarian and graduated in 2019. In December 2019, she and her partner welcomed their Golden Retriever, Winston, into their family. Winston's challenges with handling and vet visits sparked Mie's interest in handling training and preventing vet anxiety.
In 2021, she started Hund & Træning's dog instructor program and graduated in early 2023. She then enrolled in the Behavior Counselor program, as she is passionate about canine behavior. She considers herself a Behavioral Veterinarian. She has supplemented her education with various courses on Safe and Voluntary Handling, aiming to become the dog trainer she always wanted. She wants to teach new puppy owners what she wishes she had known when Winston was younger and spread awareness about handling training. In late 2022, she fully dedicated herself to SuccesHund, driven by her desire to make a difference and help dog owners. She is passionate about positive and reward-based dog training and handling training.
Training Philosophy
Mie Bay believes in positive and reward-based training methods. She emphasizes that training should be fun and safe for both the dog and the owner. She uses clicker training to guide dogs and reward their correct actions, fostering a positive learning environment where dogs enjoy training and collaborating. She encourages owners to focus on setting their dogs up for success by creating scenarios where they can succeed and be rewarded. She believes in individualizing training based on each dog's unique personality and learning style.
